Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, together with other senior government officials, on Sunday inspected the newly completed President Julius Maada Bio International Conference Centre in Lungi, ahead of the countryโs hosting of the ECOWAS Summit of Heads of State and Government on 19th July 2026.
Led by the project team, the Vice President toured key areas of the facility, including the main plenary hall, media centre, bilateral meeting rooms, VVIP lounges, exhibition spaces, and other supporting facilities, as he assessed the Centreโs level of preparedness ahead of the high-level regional gathering.
Speaking after the inspection, Vice President Juldeh Jalloh described the Centre as more than just a building, noting that it represents Sierra Leoneโs ambition to strengthen its role in regional diplomacy, host major international engagements, and create new opportunities in tourism, hospitality, and business.
The Vice President commended the contractors, consultants, engineers, and workers whose dedication and expertise contributed to the successful completion of the landmark project. He acknowledged their efforts in transforming a vision into a modern facility that reflects Sierra Leoneโs growing capacity to host major Global Events.
With the official commissioning of the Centre scheduled for 18th July , one day before the #ECOWASSummit, the facility is expected to serve as a lasting national asset, supporting regional cooperation and positioning Sierra Leone as a destination for major conferences and international engagements.
