Yavanda Business Services Holds Back-to-School Success Summit for Secondary School Students

Yavanda Business Services has hosted a one-day Back-to-School Teens Success Summit aimed at equipping secondary school students with practical skills, confidence and knowledge to succeed in school and prepare for their future careers.
The Summit , held on September 1, 2026, at Dove’s Nest on Sir Samuel Lewis Road, Aberdeen, and was organised under the theme “Start Strong, Finish Strong.”
The programme brought together young people for an interactive day of learning, personal development and team-building activities designed to prepare them for the new academic year and life beyond school. Jacqueline Yoki, CEO and founder, said that the Summit focused on key areas including goal setting and potential,confidence and communication, effective study techniques, leadership and life skills, artificial intelligence and digital literacy, as well as career and future readiness.
Participants were also engaged in fun activities, team challenges, videos and animations, practical exercises, and other interactive sessions intended to make learning more engaging.
Madam Jacqueline Yoki said the programme was designed to help students discover their potential, set Smart goals, develop effective study habits, build confidence and strengthen their decision-making abilities.
The summit also introduced students to the responsible use of artificial intelligence and digital tools for learning, creativity and problem-solving, while encouraging them to explore career pathways and prepare for future opportunities.Participants also learn proper use of the internet and how to stay safe online and offline.The summit empowers participants in how to detect scammers and how to properly manage their passwords.
The programme included training materials, and certificates for participants.
The event also featured inspiring storytelling sessions from young professionals who shared their personal and professional journeys. The speakers included a Lawyer, a Medical Doctor , and a Technology professional, who reflected on their experiences, challenges, achievements, and the lessons they learned along the way.
Madam Jacqueline Yoki described the initiative as an investment in young people, with the broader goal of helping to develop confident, responsible and future-ready leaders.
Parents were at the closing and certification ceremony, describing their presence as an opportunity to celebrate the students’ participation and achievements.
