As Chairman Batilo Gives “Back Tok”… ALHAJI MUSA TARAWALLY VOWS TO SPEAK AGAINST DICTATORIAL TENDENCIES

In a statement, titled “democracy on the line,” Flagbearer Aspirant of the ruling Sierra Leone People Party (SLPP) Alhaji Musa Tarawally has spoken against some tendencies in the ruling party that have the potential to undermine democracy.
His statement come after the chairman of the SLPP, Jimmy Batilo Songa insinuated that they will have coronation instead of election for the next leader of the party after he would have received a command from him (President Bio) as to who should be the leader and flagbearer for which he (Songa) has receiced condemnation.
“Our people may be impoverished by political dictators, but their morals and democratic rights cannot be bought or mortgaged. While dictators pay for expensive universities to teach their own children about rights, they intentionally keep their voters poor and compromised enough to abuse their own democratic freedom,” Musa Tarawaaly said
He stated that his leadership will continue to constructively critique undemocratic practices and empower other people to maintain their morals and protect their democratic rights, noting that democracy in Sierra Leone was earned through a bloody fight, loss of lives, properties and tears.
“Weak politicians prefer coronation whilst we the strong Democrats and patriots who fought for democracy in Sierra Leone will stand to maintain the democracy we fought for and abide by its norms,” he said.
Meanwhile Chairman Batilo insisted that President Bio is the owner of the SLPP, adding that “ anyone that is not okay with it, should go and hit his head on the cotton tree.”
