Youth accused of Homosexuality disappears

Issa Mohamed Kamara has not been seen since he managed to escape after it was reported that he was caught pants down on 24th January 2021 engaging in a homosexual act at a hideout along Kissy Brook, Blackhall Road in the East of Freetown.
According to eyewitness reports, Issa somehow managed to escape when his sexual partner, one Ali Turay, was being beaten and tied by mainly youths in the Kissy Brook community.
It was also reported that the police got wind that the two homosexual partners were being lynched; but when they arrived at the scene of the homosexual act, they found Ali, a youth, who was half dead; but his alleged sexual partner, Issa, was nowhere to be seen.
As at press time, this newspaper is still inquiring about what eventually happened to Ali; and the whereabouts of Issa is still not known.
The police are still on the lookout for Issa in connection with his alleged homosexual act, and to help them in the investigation regarding the violence perpetrated on Ali.
Homosexuality is still not countenanced in Sierra Leone, as it is a taboo in this country.
An LGBT human rights activist, Fanny Anne Eddy, was murdered in 2004 for advocating for LGBT rights.
