Wanted for Politically Motivated Murder

Yusuf Bendu, a young man hanging around PZ, a busy business area, disappeared 7th March 2017 after a youth lay dead, allegedly beaten to death at Wilberforce Street by a mob that was pursuing him.
Because another general election is to be conducted next year (2018), the political tension is already high, a reason for confrontations, some violent, between political rivals, mainly supporters of the two main political parties, the ruling All People’s Congress (APC) and the main opposition Sierra Leones People’s Party (SLPP).
According to some eyewitness reports, the victim of the alleged political violence, whose name is not known up to the time of going to press, was chased down PZ unto Wilberforce Street where a mob caught up with the fleeing youth, beating him to death.
According to reports, the police have mounted an investigation in connection with the death of the perceived SLPP supporter; and some eyewitnesses picked out Bendu as one of the mobsters that beat up the youth, leading to his death on the spot.
The police are still looking for Bendu to help in the investigation leading to the death of the youth.
As at press time, the whereabouts of Bendu is not known.
