To Protect Russian… Finance Minister Questions Competence Of Sierra Leoneans In Mining

Fantamadi Bangura, Finance Minister of Sierra Leone has said that the country does not have a competent Sierra Leonean to manage a mining outfit.
He made this statement while he was responding to mining fall out between Government of Sierra Leone and Gento Group of Companies over the Kasafoni Land in the North of the country.
Fantmadi was defending what he claimed to be a management service to the government of Sierra Leone, an agreement he signed with a Russian outfit called Mount View Konzen.
He noted that the outfit is advising government on how to structure government full participation in mining for which there is huge hue and cry over the Kasafoni Land.
He stressed that Mount View is a credible company and insisted that apart from Tunde Cole who recently got Sierra Rutile, no Sierra Leonean has the capacity to give government a management advice.
The Minister said that Mount View is an international partner and that the agreement with them was passed both in cabinet and parliament.
Upon Research there are several Sierra Leoneans that have huge expertise both on paper and in experience on mining and mining businesses.
In the agreement between the Government of Sierra Leone and Mount View, it states that after due diligence, it is desirous of recruiting the services of Mount View Konzen Management DMCC, a world class management service provider specialized in the efficient management of government owned mining, minerals and associated assets, with a proven track record to attract a wide range of international financing alternatives, skills, provide education, facilitate trade, apply latest science and technology and facilitate enhanced social and environmental standards in the extractive sector.
Upon research, there is no credible website of the so- called Mount View and there is no nowhere they have ever managed a government mining in the world.
