THE WHERE ABOUT OF JOURNALIST BANGURA IS STILL UNKNOWN

Report reaching this medium revealed that Sierra Leone Police have declared Abdul Rahman Bangura, a political journalist wanted for allegedly inciting citizens to participate in the August 10 protest turned violent in which 6 police officers and hundreds of citizens were killed.
This incident saw the arrests of journalists, politicians and civil society activists more so those they perceived as members of the opposition All People Congress (APC) , resulting in the trials of many and many declared wanted.
Abdul Rahman Bangura who is a local journalist, working for the Confidence Newspaper was very active in political reporting and commentaries on both the legacy and social media. Police Source says he is one of those who incited young people through his political commentaries to protest which led to the death of six police officers and scores of civilians.
Sources say that several attempts to arrest Journalist Bangura failed as it is believed that he is now where to be seen, the family of Bangura said that they don’t know the where about of Bangura and that they themselves have come under serious threats from the police.
Abudul Rahman Bangura was a member of the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ) and a member of the Sierra Leone Sports Writers Association (SWASAL). The Office of the President has already announced the establishment of a special committee to investigate the causes of the August 10 Protest.
Journalist Bangura is no where to be seen as some people feared that he may have been killed or he is on the run as he is one of the targets of the Special Committee.
