Teacher In Court For Cyberstalking

A teacher, Dura Sapateh Fornah, appeared before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown on charges of Cyberstalking and Cyber Bullying, contrary to Section 44(1) (a) of the Cyber Security and Crime Act 2021.
The charges state that on June 29, 2024 Fornah used WhatsApp to send stalking messages to Dr. Brian Konton, potentially damaging his character and causing apprehension.
That he also sent bullying messages to Dr. Konton on the same date.
Counsel for the defense, C. Kamara Esq. applied for bail, arguing that Fornah is a Sierra Leonean resident with reliable sureties.
Magistrate Kekura granted a bail of NLe 100,000 with one surety and adjourned the matter to August 15th 2024.
