SLFA Signs FIFA Arena Deals With Albert Academy and Bo School

The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has signed agreements with Albert Academy and Bo School to install artificial playing fields at the two schools under FIFA’s Arena Project. The agreements were signed at the Football Secretariat. Those present included Abubakarr Fofanah, Vice Principal of Albert Academy Junior Secondary School; Abdul Fofanah, Head of Department and senior teacher at the school; Zainab Bangura, President of the Albert Academy Alumni Association; and Rev. Hassan Kainesie, Principal of Bo School. SLFA President Babadi Kamara said the project aims to give schoolchildren a proper place to play football and to help find young talent. Under the arrangement, FIFA will supply the materials and send experts to supervise installation. The cost of the local contractor will have to be met with local funds. Kamara said the schools and the SLFA will work together to raise the money for the two pilot sites. He explained that FIFA needed the signed agreements before it would release the materials. The documents confirm that both schools understand the project and are ready and willing to host it.
Rev. Kainesie and Ms. Bangura thanked the SLFA and FIFA for the initiative. They said the new pitches could help the schools develop young players who will serve the nation, their communities and the wider world.
