Sierratel Staff & Others Behind Bars For Theft

Mamoud Kamara an engineer who works at Sierratel, Alie Barrie a diamond digger and Amara Sesay a driver made their first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown on two count charges to wit Conspiracy to commit a crime contrary to law and Larceny Contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the particulars of offence on Wednesday 3rd July 2024 at Komrabai Village Lokomasama Chiefdom Port Loko District in the North West Region of Sierra Leone conspired together with other persons unknown to commit a crime to wit Larceny.
Count Two further stated that on the same date and place the accused persons did steal One B15 3660 CDMA 3/2 sit, Six Aviat Eclipse Igbps Microwave link, One D rectifier cabinet 48v.200 Apm, Twelve deep cycle Vlar Gel battery and other assorted items equivalent to the total value of Three Million Nine Hundred and Seventy Three Thousand Seventeen Leones (3,973,17.00) property of Sierra Leone Telecommunications company.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused persons, they pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor Sergeant I.S Bangura sought for short adjournment date for him to get proper conference with his witness.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Sahr Kekura refused bail and sent the accused persons to the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown, and the matter was adjourned to the 8th August 2024.
