RSLAF Refutes Military Protest

Head of Media at the Ministry of Defence Colonel Issa Bangura has said that no serving military personnel will stage a protest because it will lead to court martial case.

Colonel Bangura made this statement on Tuesday January 17th 2024 while responding to audio marking rounds on social media that serving military personnel will have to stage a protest on January 17 and 18th 2024.

He went on to say that military personnel are not politicians so they have no right to protest as they are serving the nation.

He informed the public why 48 Military personnel were dismissed from their job, explaining that the serving military personnel set up a Whatsapp group where they were engaging in certain things for which the RSLAF warned them to reframe from but they refused.

He said that the RSLAF had to set up a committee to look into their issue first before they were dismissed.
Col Bangura further that there are 27 serving military personnel that are facing court martial case.

Col Bangura called on the public to go about their business, maintaining that nothing will happen.
He also advised parents to allow their children to go to school because they are safe.
