PFSL Inaugurates National Executive During Thanksgiving Service

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Sierra Leone (PFSL) held its Inauguration for National Executive and Thanksgiving Service on January 18th 2025, at the Bethel Temple, Tower Hill, Freetown.
The event brought together leaders and congregants from various Pentecostal churches across Sierra Leone in a celebration of unity, leadership, and faith.
The ceremony marked the official introduction of the newly elected National Executive Committee of PFSL, who will serve from 2024 to 2028. It was a time of reflection, prayer, and commitment to advancing the objectives of the Pentecostal Fellowship in the country.
The program commenced with Rabbi Tamba Mbayo, PFSL Vice President delivering the welcome address. He warmly greeted all attendees, acknowledging their presence and participation in the significant occasion.
Reverend Henry Abioseh Samuels, President of the Council of Churches in Sierra Leone (CCSL), gave the fraternal greetings. In his address, Reverend Samuels highlighted the importance of collaboration among religious bodies in addressing national issues. He referenced the Safe Motherhood Bill, which was recently tabled at the Wall of Parliament, emphasizing the role of religious leaders in offering biblical perspectives on critical societal matters.
He commended President Julius Maada Bio for engaging with the religious council and expressed hope that the Safe Motherhood Bill would be revisited for further alignment with moral and ethical values.
In closing, Reverend Samuels left the audience with a profound statement: “Study men and things, and you will know where to tread.”
Reverend Bresford Ishmael Cole, a prominent figure in PFSL, facilitated the swearing-in of the newly elected National Executive Committee. The committee members pledged to uphold their leadership roles and work towards the advancement of PFSL’s mission.
The following individuals were officially inaugurated as the PFSL National Executive Committee for the 2024–2028 term:
• President: Bishop Akintayo Sam-Jolly (re-elected for a second four-year term)
• Vice President: Rabbi Tamba Eric Emmerson M’baya
• General Secretary: Pastor Favour S. Nyuma
• Assistant General Secretary: Reverend Emmanuel Tamba Temoindor
• Treasurer: Reverend James W. Bangura
• Assistant Treasurer: Apostle Bola Shyllon Odubenu
• Financial Secretary: Bishop Rashid Turay
• Assistant Financial Secretary: Pastor Praise Massaquoi
• Public Relations Officer: Apostle Siaka Abraham Kamara
• Assistant Public Relations Officer: Apostle David Kamara
• Welfare Officer: Apostle Anthony Keita
• Assistant Welfare Officer: Reverend Gabriel Koroma
Reverend Beresford Cole led a heartfelt prayer for the newly inaugurated executive committee, seeking divine wisdom and guidance to help them fulfill their duties and serve the Fellowship faithfully. The prayer emphasized leadership grounded in truth and a commitment to the spiritual growth of the Pentecostal community.
In his inaugural speech, PFSL President, Bishop Akintayo Sam-Jolly outlined his mission and vision for the fellowship. He emphasized the following key priorities:
• Serving as a unified mouthpiece for Pentecostal churches in Sierra Leone.
• Strengthening relationships among member churches.
• Supporting joint evangelism initiatives to spread the Gospel.
• Promoting Christian ethics, integrity, and transparency in ministry.
Bishop Sam-Jolly called on all Pentecostal churches to work together in unity, stressing the importance of collaboration in addressing both spiritual and societal challenges.
The inauguration ceremony not only symbolized the start of a new chapter for PFSL but also reinforced the fellowship’s dedication to spiritual leadership, ethical governance, and national development. It was a reminder of the collective mission to serve God, uplift communities, and promote Christian values across Sierra Leone.
