ONS National Security Coordinator Says Sierra Leone Is Relatively Stable

The National Security Coordinator of the Office of National Security (ONS) Abdulai Caulker has told news men that the General Security situation in the country is relatively stable.
He explained that the situation is very stable as they have very good intelligence that will enhance them to make responsible security decisions.
“We are at the normal situation and at this level there is no threat,” he said.
He furthered that the reason the country is stable is because they have put to gear the national security architecture, which they re-touched after the failed November 26th coup, which have seen increased security posture to ensure they provide security everywhere so that the country will remain very stable and allow development to thrive.
He added that they will maintain the posture of the security not only in Freetown but all over the country, explaining that they have decentralized security committees across provincial, district and chiefdom levels and that they meet every fortnight.
He said that there are other Multi-sectorial committees, pointing out that the National Security Council is the highest Security Body in the country chaired by the Commander in Chief and they discuss every security situation in the country.
He revealed that the lantern parade has been put on hold because there are few fugitives around who may want to use the parade to cause mayhem.
