NGC Suspends Jesmed Suma For Insubordination

The leadership of the National Grand Coalition (NGC) party has revealed that the suspension of their former Chairman and Leader, Jesmed Foday Mamie Suma was due to insubordination.
This was made known by the party leadership on Monday 14th October 2024 during a press conference held at their party Headquarters in Freetown.
The Acting Chairman/Secretary General of NGC, Alhaji Amidu Sheriff maintained that they have heard plenty rumors and accusations about the suspension of their former Chairman and Leader but that the suspension came after a National Executive Committee Meeting that was held on the 5th October 2024.
He underscored that they party is a democratic party that respects processes and procedures and that there are rules of law that uphold the constitutional values of their institution which every member of the party is equal to.
He referenced Section 16 sub (3) paragraph (f) of their constitution which gives the National Executive Committee the mandate of disciplinary actions against any member of the party who is accused of misconduct.
He pointed out that the suspended former Chairman and Leader was on social media insulting their party and the National Executive Committee (NEC) and that he also suspended senior members of the party without following due procedures.
He said that it is also on record that disciplinary actions were taken against two senior members of their party for misconduct.
The said members were the Deputy National Women’s Leader and the Acting District Chairman Kenema District both of them were suspended for misconduct by NEC.
He stated that the suspended former Chairman and Leader has been given 14 days to apologise to the party and leadership of the party or remain a nonmember for good.
