Nanny & Security Guard In Court For $20,000 Theft

Edith White a Nanny and Salieu Bangura a Security guard appeared before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown on two count charges of conspiracy to commit a crime contrary to law and larceny by servant contrary to Section 17 (1), (a) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the particulars of offence both accused on Friday 7th June 2024, at B27 Sawi Drive Off Kingharman Road in the Western Area of Freetown conspired together with other people unknown to commit a crime to wit Larceny by Servant.
On count two both accused on the same date and place being a servant employed by Doctor Mustapha Sundifu Kabba stole the sum of Twenty Thousand United States Dollars (20,000) equivalent to Four Hundred and Eighty Thousand Leones property of the said Doctor Mustapha S. Kabba.
When the charge was read and explained to them, no plead was taken.
The prosecutor Sergeant 9939 Mohamed Lahai sought for a short adjournment date for him to lead his witness.
The defence lawyer M. Y Conteh renewed his previous bail application on behalf of the accused persons.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Sahr Kekura Granted the accused bail in the sum of Five Hundred Thousand Leones each with one surety in like sum.
The matter was adjourned to 22nd August 2024.
