Herbalist Sentenced For Larceny

Ibrahim Alusine Janneh, herbalist has made another appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown on a count of larceny contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the particulars of offence on the 4th July 2024 at No. 22A East Brook Lane in the Western Area of Freetown, the accused, Ibrahim Alusine Janneh stole from the complainant, Manilia Kanu’s local safe, a cash box the sum of Twenty One Thousand Leones (21,000) and Three Gold Colour Bracelet valued Seven Hundred and Fifty Leones all to the total valued of Twenty One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty Leones (21,750) property of Manilia Kanu.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused person, he pleaded guilty.
The prosecutor Sergeant 17649 Bangura I.S told the Bench that since the accused has no previous criminal records, the court should have mercy on the accused person.
The accused was not legally represented he pleaded with the Magistrate to temper justice with mercy on his behalf.
Due to the plea mitigation by the accused person Magistrate Sahr Kekura sentenced him to 18 months imprisonment or pay a fine of Two Thousand Leones to the State.
