Fourteen Fullah Tribal Chiefs Coronated In Kono

On Sunday 21st April 2024, fourteen Fullah Tribal Chiefs were coronated at the Fillie Faboe Memorial Hall in Tankoro, Koidu City in a grand ceremony that attracts the attendance of hundreds of supporters and well-wishers.
In his keynote address, the Fullah Tribal Head of Kono District, Chief Alhaji Alimamy Barrie spoke passionately about the importance of unity and tradition in contemporary world before he adorned the chiefs with their traditional honor and certificates. The tribal head emphasized the roles that the newly coronated chiefs would play in upholding the values of the Fullah Community and how that will translate into the general wellbeing of not just the Fullah Community but the entire Kono District at large.
In reaction, the excited district stakeholders commended the tribal head for such a selfless act of inducting sub-chiefs which they described as selflessness.
In his response, the Local Unit Commander (LUC) of Motema Police Division commended the Fullah Community for always maintaining the peace and contributing positively towards the development of Kono District. He stated that other people need to learn from such examples as these events are what Sierra Leone will always support. He assured the people of Kono that the Sierra Leone Police will always be in a position to help stakeholders and community heads govern their people well.
Deputy National Secretary of the Fullah Progressive Union, Sherrif Barrie in his statement on behalf of the National President, praised the well-organized event and noted that the Chiefs have worked diligently and that he’s happy the Fullah Tribal Head recognises the work of his sub chiefs. He described the event as progressive and commended the Tribal Head for his advance and selfless leadership traits which he depicted as rear.
Among the attendees were government officials, traditional leaders, and community members who expressed their unwavering support for the newly appointed chiefs. The coronation ceremony was a testament to the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the Fullah Tribe, showcasing the unity and solidarity of its people.
The event concluded with a grand feast and traditional dance, highlighting the joyous occasion and bringing together people from all walks of life to celebrate the new chapter in the Fullah Tribal leadership history.
