FBC Mosque Receives 100 Bags Of Cement From Tahajjud Luxes

In a heartfelt act of charity, Tahajjud Luxes has donated 100 bags of cement to the mosque at Fourah Bay College (FBC), marking a significant contribution to the mosque’s ongoing expansion. The donation was warmly received by the President of the FBC Muslim Jamat, Sullay Jamal Kalokoh, who described the gift as “an answer to our prayers for the house of Allah.”
The ceremony, held on Friday, March 28, 2025, at the college, was attended by key figures from the Liberals Brotherhood and the campus leadership. In his remarks, Kalokoh emphasized the timing of the donation, calling it critical to the mosque’s expansion project. “When alumni remember their roots, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, it strengthens our entire community,” he said. “May Allah reward the donors for their kindness and unwavering support of our cause.”
Octopus Soko Kai-Samba Jnr, Vice President of Tahajjud Luxes, explained that the group comprises Muslims within the Liberals Brotherhood who pool their resources to give back to society, particularly during Ramadan. “For years, we’ve identified communities in urgent need of support. This year, we felt it was only right to give back to our alma mater,” he shared. “When we heard about the mosque’s expansion, we saw it as an opportunity to contribute to something that has shaped us.”
Kai-Samba Jnr also addressed a common misconception about the Liberals Brotherhood, noting that while it’s often seen as a student group focused on campus life and politics, it is, in fact, a diverse organization with deep-rooted values. “The Liberals Brotherhood is not just about politics. We are Muslims, Christians, and people from all walks of life. Our mission is to serve society and give back to our communities,” he said.
Alieu Jabbie, the Liberator of the Liberals Brotherhood, spoke of the broader responsibility the group feels toward society. “Our duty is not only to ourselves but to the wider community. Giving back is at the heart of what we stand for,” Jabbie stated. He also highlighted the inclusive nature of the Brotherhood, saying, “Although we are helping the mosque today, our Brotherhood serves all Fourah Bay students, regardless of their faith.”
Since the start of Ramadan, the Liberals Brotherhood has launched a series of initiatives aimed at giving back to society. Mohamed F. Bangura Esq., President of Tahajjud Luxes, reaffirmed their commitment to contributing to the development of their alma mater. “As past students of this prestigious institution, we believe it’s our duty to support the campus and the wider community,” Bangura said.
He also expressed deep gratitude to the Liberals Brotherhood’s Foundation and Elders Council for their continued support, emphasizing that such charitable gestures would remain a part of Tahajjud Luxes’ annual activities. “This is not a one-time event. Our commitment to giving back is steadfast, and we look forward to continuing this tradition in the years to come,” Bangura concluded.
With Ramadan serving as a backdrop for this generous donation, the Tahajjud Luxes group’s gesture highlights the importance of community, faith, and the deep connections that bind alumni to their roots. As the mosque at Fourah Bay College continues to grow, so too does the spirit of giving and solidarity that unites all members of the community.
