Despite Fulfilling Court & Registrar General’s Requirements… Director of Lands Tamba Dauda Threatens to Revoke Lawful Purchase

The Director of Lands at the Ministry of Lands Housing and Country Planning Tamba Dauda stands accused of ensuring to use his powers at all cost to revoke a legal land purchase that has been made by one Salim K. Sillah a law-abiding citizen.
In letter written to His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio, Salim K. Sillah stated that due to the unjust and deeply troubling stage of the issue, he wants to bring it to the attention of the president with profound respect.
“An unjust and deeply troubling stage, involving the Director of Lands, Mr. Tamba Dauda, whose actions have obstructed my lawful rights in relation to a privately acquired property, despite my full compliance with every statutory requirement of the Republic of Sierra Leone,” Salim K. Sillah stated.
Sillah said that the land in question was acquired through a legitimate court-supervised process, which is widely regarded as the most credible method of land acquisition and that the transaction was guided by a lawful and enforceable court order: MISC.APP466/2024 No.78.
He furthered that his conveyance was approved by the Ministry of Lands through the Directorate in February 2025 and that his documents were registered with the Registrar General’s Office on 13th March 2025 No 359/2025 Vol 1013 Page 11.
“I paid all relevant National Revenue Authority taxes on 13th March 2025. Upon confirmation from my legal counsel that every statutory step had been completed, I proceeded—lawfully—to pay for the land,” Sillah disclosed.
Efforts made to get the side of the Director of Lands Tamba Dauda proved fruitless. More on this in subsequent editions.
