Bo, Moyamba, Makeni & Other Districts Call For Alhaji Musa Tarawally To Lead The SLPP In 2028

A strong and supportive message that has been expressed by stakeholders in the various regions in Sierra Leone is that Hon. Alhaji Musa Tarawally should take up the mantle of leadership in the Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) and lead them to victory come 2028.

This message was revealed by the people to Hon. Alhaji Musa Tarawally during his tour of the various regions to break fast (Iftar) with Imams right across Sierra Leone.

Hon. Alhaji Musa Tarawally started the tour in the Southern Region in Bo City which brough together Imams from Bo, Bonthe, Moyamba and Pujehun districts. He proceeded to the Eastern Region targeting Kenema, Kailahun and Kono districts.

After having Iftar with Imams in the South and Eastern Region, he moved to the Northern Region in Makeni where he also had Iftar with Imams from Falaba, Tonkolili, Koinadugu, Bombali and Makeni Districts.

In the North-West Region, he had Iftar with Imams from Kambia, Karene and Port Loko and ended his tour in Western Area of Freetown with Imams from different parts of Freetown.

In his message to Imams right across the regions, Hon. Alhaji Musa Tarawally acknowledged the selfless service that they (Imams) render to the people and society at large, and encouraged them to remain steadfast. He thanked them for their service in maintaining unity and peace in their different communities.

He maintained that the key purpose of his tour is to break fast with them and also dialogue on a way forward to address the Kush crisis which has become a pandemic in the country.

“Prayer is the key to every problem. I believe that with prayers, we can get a solution to solve this problem which is not affecting the younger generation which is the future of our nation. I want to ask that you stand in prayer against this problem,” he asked.

He further disclosed that he has been following and listing to various groups and people across the country about his political aspiration, especially to lead the SLPP in 2028. He said that he refused to comment and decided to share it with the Imams who are religious heads and closer to God for their advice, prayers and guidance.

Chairman United Council Imams Southern Region, Alhaji Osman Kiaooin expressed thanks and appreciation to Alhaji Musa Tarawally for honoring the Imams.

He said that Alhaji Musa Tarawally has played significant role in honoring religious scholars across the country. ’’We are grateful to him because he is the first person to treat religious scholars like kings,’’ he said.

He called on his colleagues to play active role in politics noting that religious leaders are the moral guarantors in society and that religious scholars can play important role in electing good leaders in society.

He acknowledged that Alhaji Musa Tarawally is a good leader and has help to unite religious scholars across the country. He assured Alhaji Musa Trawally that the Imams will always support his aspiration and called on him to lead the nation. “We want Alhaji Musa Tarawally to take the mantle of leadership in the country because it will help the imams to take center stage in politics,” he said.

Speaking on behalf of his Chairman, the Secretary General of the Youth Organization in Moyamba, Joseph Gbangba urged Alhaji Musa Tarawally to take up the mantle of leadership of the Sierra Leone Peoples Party. He said that Alhaji Musa Tarawally has done tremendous work for the people of this country adding that this is the right time for him to lead the nation.

He said several youth organizations in the district have chosen Alhaji Musa Tarawally to lead the SLPP party. He assured Alhaji Musa Tarawally of their unweaving support in making sure that he wins the presidency come 2028.
Similar sentiments were expressed in other regions calling on Hon. Alhaji Musa Tarawally to take the lead.
