As They Lay Cookery Seller Killed By “Stray” Bullet To Rest Today … IG SELLU SYMPATHIZES WITH FAMILY, ASSURES THEM OF INVESTIGATION

A wife, daughter and sister allegedly killed by stray bullet from the Police in a standoff between Kossoh Town and Krootown Road will be burried today Thursday 17th September after Janhaza Prayer at Fullah Mosque at Sanders Street.
Emma Munu Kanu, a cookery seller and bread winner of her family met her untimely death in a chaotic scene this past Sunday at Krootown Road Community.
Stakeholders of the community accused the police of highhandedness and indiscriminate shooting which they believed led to the death of Emma, explaining that Emma was killed right in her shop where she was doing business.
Meanwhile, the leadership of the Sierra Leone Police including the Inspector General of Police, William Faya Sellu paid a condolence visit to the family at Nana Kroo Street at Krootown Road.
They said that they were there to first sympathies with the family as Sierra Leoneans because one way or the other they are all related.
They noted that it is a sad event for the family but assured them that they will look into the whole issue in a transparent manner and that whosoever is responsible will be brought to book.
The family accepted the condolence message of the police, warning young people in the community to refrain from any comment that will create problem while they will be laying their daughter to rest today.
