As NaCSA Surpasses 30% Quota… Amb. Ndomahina Honours Productive Women Of NaCSA

“To all the women who have shaped our journey, we extend our deepest gratitude. Your dedication and achievements inspire us all and set a standard of excellence,’’ these were the words of gratitude from Ambassador Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina – the Commissioner for the National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA) while honouring and celebrating the women of NaCSA in a well-organized and attended banquet.
33% of the staff of the Commission are women, occupying strategic positions such as senior director, directors, specialists, managers, officers, and support staff. This fulfilled the 30% quota aspiration of His Excellency Dr. Julius Maada Bio as outlined in the Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Act.
These women use agile and hybrid approaches more frequently with innovative and advanced development tools to accelerate implementation. Ambassador Ndomahina considers these women to be the bedrock of the many results the Commission has recorded in recent years. ‘’…we are proud to honour the incredible contributions of the women in NaCSA and at the national level. This unwavering commitment, outstanding performance and leadership have been the cornerstone of our success. On behalf of the President, Dr. Julius Maada Bio, we are here today to celebrate the power, resilience and leadership of the women who continue to make a difference,’’ he noted.
The Deputy Commissioner of NaCSA – Sir Jimmy Batilo Songa reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring that the agenda of the President to make this country a better place is achieved. He noted that he is the ‘right-hand man’ to the Commissioner and he is well-positioned to work with the Commissioner because delivery is paramount.
Dr. Susan Robert, the Senior Director for Programme Development and Quality Assurance (SD-PDQA) is one of the longest-serving staff at the Commission who has in a diverse capacity contributed immensely in revamping and reshaping the work of the Commission. She confirmed that the results Ambassador Ndomahina has recorded from the time of appointment surpassed and remained unmatched. ‘’This is the first time a Commissioner is celebrating staff, especially women for their indelible contributions to the growth of the Commission and by extension national development. We are honoured, sir,’’ she ended.
The President of the Female Parliamentary Caucus, Hon. Wuyatta Bernatte Songa extolled NaCSA for recognizing the work of women but appealed for more women to be in top management positions. Isata Jabbie Kabbah the Presidential Adviser on Gender was very pleased with the new trend at NaCSA more specifically with the working and brotherly relationship between the Commissioner – Ambassador Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina and the Deputy Commissioner – Sir Jimmy Batilo Songa. She is certain that with these two persons at the helm of affairs at NaCSA, women are on the winning side.
In the climax, the President of NaCSA’s Women’s Forum who also doubled as the Director of Programme, Md. Regina Saffa presented a gift of honour to the Commissioner for his support to the women of Sierra Leone.
