As CTC Mining Defaults… Hisham Mackie To Cough Up US$2M

CTC Mining Company owes the Government of Sierra Leone US$ 2M. This was revealed by the Public Account Committee (PAC) of Parliament when examining issues in the 2023 Auditor General Report.
Hon. Ibrahim Tawa Conteh made this Known on Friday May 2nd 2025 when the Public Account Committee (PAC) summoned mining companies that are not complying with the laws of Sierra Leone.
The report stated that this mining company is not leaving up to their obligations as they owe government for the two-mining license-for large scale and small-scale mining.
The Chairman of PAC told officials of the National Mineral Agency (NMA) that it is only this 2025 that they granted concession to CTC, and lots of duty waivers.
He revealed that the committee would have to summon Hisham Mackie, ordering that the letter should go out on Monday May 5th 2025.
He emphasized that if CTC and Hisham Mackie do not pay the government of Sierra Leone, they are going to close their accounts.
He said that the committee will not enter into payment plan with CTC Mining Company.
The Chairman stated that people would not take them for granted, adding that CTC failed to appear before the committee on Friday 2nd May 2025.
