Accused Granted Bail In Wounding Matter

Issa Bangura residing at Mountain Cut in the Central part of Freetown was granted bail on Monday 21st October 2024 by Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court No.2 in Freetown.
The accused was charged with One Court Charge which is wounding with intent, contrary to Section 18 of the Offences Against the Persons Act of 1861.
On Saturday 7th September at Mountain Cut Freetown, the accused wounded one Samuel Fortuno residing at No. 8 Gaber Lane, with an intent to damage his body.
It was stated that on the same date, Saturday 7th September 2024 at Mountain Cut in Freetown, Samuel Fortuno was assaulted by the accused, Issa Bangura as a result of this he sustained injury on his right hand and several body pain.
The accused Issa Bangura pleaded for mercy before Magistrate Kekura stating that he is a family man with two children and a pregnant wife.
He added that he has learnt his lesson and promise to make a change at the Mountain Cut Community, he also promised that he will be serving as a Peace Ambassador at the Mountain Cut Community adding that he has learnt his lesson.
Magistrate Sahr Kekura: “Having heard all what you have said, I shall grant you bail, but on a condition, that you will serve as a peace ambassador at the Mountain Cut Community and will never involve in any violent act in your community and anywhere else,” he said.
The matter was adjourned to 24th October 2024.
