As They Wait The Dictates of President Bio… Who Is The “Thou Shall Be” For SLPP IN 2028?

Succession battle is already getting heated in the ruling Sierra Leone People Party (SLPP) as different people are jostling to become the Flagbearer and subsequently President of the country if he or she wins the election.
It is against this backdrop, that the chairman of the Sierra Leone People Party Jimmy Batilo Songa cautioned constituency chairpersons of the party not to take position but open up to all candidates.
“Don’t take position because in line with our party constitution the President should give political directives and we shall listen to his command. We are expecting a message of Thou Shall Be from the President to me,” Songa stated.
He continued that when the message comes from the President as to who should be the Flagbearer he will convey it to them, noting that they should stick to the plan and follow the leader.
The chairman has come under immense pressure from within in his own political party for making that statement as some believed that the President has no role to play but to ensure that the leader naturally emerges from the people.
Others believed that in as much as such statement is coming from the chairman, it is clear that the President has someone in mind he wants to anoint.
The question now in the lips of many ruling party supporters is Who Is The “Thou Shall BE ?”
