Dr. Victor Davies Joins the Race for the APC Flag

Former IMF Resident Representative and Head of the Department of Economics at Fourah Bay College, Dr. Victor A. B. Davies, has officially declared his intention to contest for All People’s Congress (APC) Flagbearer and Presidential Candidate 2028.
Dr. Davies decided after wide consultations with party and community stakeholders. He declared he was stepping forward with “humility, gratitude, and an unshakable belief” in his ability to serve the APC and Sierra Leone.
He emphasized that the race should not be seen as a battle against fellow party members. Rather, it is a collective fight against poverty, injustice, and corruption.
“If I am entrusted with our Party’s flag, I will carry it as a covenant with the people—leading with integrity and fairness, and listening to the voices of ordinary women, men, and youths.”
Highlighting his vast experience, Dr. Davies stated that under his leadership, the APC will adopt strategies for job creation, quality education, healthcare, security, and restoring human dignity.
He stressed that unity must guide the process: “This race should strengthen us and not divide us. All must support whoever emerges victorious, for our true battle lies at the national polls. Let us show that the APC is a party of unity, discipline, and progress.”
In a passionate appeal, Dr. Davies said:
“Today, I ask you to entrust me with this flag not for myself, but for all seeking a better tomorrow—every farmer in the village, every trader in the market, every student in the classroom, and every worker. Together, we are writing a new chapter for our nation.”
He concluded with a call for solidarity: “Let us rise as one. Give me your mandate, and I will give you victory. Give me your trust, and I will give you a leadership of service, humility, and results.”
