Parliament Orders Arrest Of Ecomed Representative For Non-Compliance

In a recent parliamentary session, the Committee on Health, chaired by Hon. Wuyatta Bernadette Songa, summoned representatives from Ecomed, a prominent medical diagnostics Centre in Sierra Leone, to address concerns over missing documentation.
Despite a formal request issued ten days prior, Ecomed failed to provide the necessary documents for review.
The committee expressed frustration over the company’s non-compliance, emphasizing the importance of timely cooperation in such matters. As a result, Hon. Songa ordered the arrest of the Ecomed representative present at the meeting and mandated the temporary closure of Ecomed until all required documents are submitted and thoroughly examined
Ecomed which is located at 19 Off Upper Kingharman Road, Brookfields, Freetown, is recognized as Sierra Leone’s most advanced medical diagnostics centre, offering a wide range of laboratory tests. The facility also provides radiology and diagnostic imaging services, contributing significantly to the country’s healthcare sector

It also, ensures that medical facilities adhere to established guidelines which is crucial for maintaining public trust and delivering quality healthcare services.
