The Ministry of Youth Affairs has succeeded in securing Covid-19 package support that will be provided to youth groups in Fifty-One (51) border crossing points across the country.
This was made possible through funding that was provided by GIZ amounting to the tune of Ninety-Seven Million Eight Hundred Thousand Leones (Le97, 800,000.00).
That the items provided will be used to support District and Chiefdom Youth Council leaders in Border Crossing Communities.
That the Ministry of Youth Affairs through its nationwide structure will distribute the items to the beneficiary communities, noting that they will monitor to ensure that the items are used judiciously.
That sanitizers, veronica buckets, gloves, tissues, infrared thermometer and 50kg bags of rice are the items to be distributed in the beneficiary communities within the 12 Districts of Kailahun, Kenema, Kono, Pujehun, Moyamba, Bonth, Kambia, Port Loko, Koinadugu, Falaba, Karene and Western Rural.
The Ministry extended appreciation to GIZ for their timely intervention and look forward for similar gesture from other partners in order to support young people in fight to defeat Covid-19 in the country.
