The management of the Sierra Leone Airports Authority (SLAA) has dismissed information making rounds on social media of systemic baggage pilferage at the Freetown International Airport.

“The Board and Management of the Sierra Leone Airports Authority wishes to draw the attention of the general public to a video message making rounds in the social media over allegations of systemic baggage pilferage at the Freetown International Airport by a passenger who claimed to have travelled with Brussels Airline on the 29th of March,” they stated.

That a review of the CCTV footage at the airport revealed that the passenger (Ahmed Sesay) did not travel on the 29th as claimed but on the 19th of March as confirmed by Brussels Airline.

That his hand luggage (a Ghana must-go) was never checked in and that no lap top was removed from his luggage at the check-in counter.
