Daughter of former President Ernest Bai Koroma, Dankay Koroma was spotted in Kamabai in the North-West of Sierra Leone together with his father at a health center where the former president paid a courtesy call.
Dankay Koroma and others were involved in the beating of late lbrahim Samura who was a journalist and Chief Executive Editor of New Age Newspaper during the run-off elections at the Lumley Round About in the west of Freetown which indecently led to his untimely death, according to autopsy report.
Dankay Koroma and others have been on the run after their reports were made at the Lumley Police Station in a bid to escape the long arm of the law.
Journalist Samura died on Wednesday 6 June 2018 at the 34 Military Hospital after he collapsed at his Hill Station resident and autopsy report showed that he died as a result of heart attack he suffered caused by a fractured skull.
Despite the late man’s family was reluctant for the autopsy to be done, the police insisted that the autopsy must be carried out because in Sierra Leone like in other countries, criminal matters are brought in the name of the state.
According to report, Samura had already accepted an apology from the APC after his family and some friends prevailed on him to do so and was about to withdraw the matter from CID but was prevented from doing so by the police; who told him that being that it was a case of assault; he has to wait for a year and within that period if nothing happens to him, he can withdraw the matter.
Amnesty International Sierra Leone has called on the police to expedite the process of investigating the cause of Ibrahim Samura’s death.
They also called on the police after their investigations to bring to book all those accused of being responsible for his death.
Meanwhile, some members of the public has taken a swipe at the former Deputy Minister of Information, who also doubles as APC Publicity Secretary, Cornilius Devaux for justifying the violence and attacks on the journalists by their thugs by stating that the journalists were beaten because they were eating with both hands.
