The Minister of
Information and Communications, Mohamed Rahman Swaray has in a press conference
held at the Ministry’s conference room on the 11th March disclosed
to journalists that press attaches will receive their appointment letters by
the end of the week.
The Minister congratulates the prospective attaches on behalf of the President, Rtd. Brig. Dr. Julius Maada Bio, citing that the prospective information attaches are deserving members of the Fourth Estate.
He noted that the President has stated before that Freetown is not Sierra Leone, and in that vein, “for the first time they chose attaches from different part of the country,” he affirmed.
The Minister maintained that the outbreak of the Coronavirus across the world would be a major impediment to the early deployment of some of the attaches,” sadly enough, I am not sure if you were to be appointed an attaché now, you would want to go to china. You would only join the rest of the world in prayer to fight the outbreak of the coronavirus,” he said.
He stated that all is done and dusted and the Ministry of Information will be organizing trainings for all accredited attaches in the coming week.
