Report reaching New Age has revealed that the former Minister of Defense, Internal Affairs and Coordinator of the National Ebola Response Centre (NERC), Major Rtd. Alfred Palo Conteh has been put in protective custody at the Pademba Road Correctional Center.
A press release by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Friday 20th March disclosed that they (CID) were informed that Alfred Palo Conteh was found in possession of a loaded small arms during his invitation at State House by the President.
This is not unconnected to his (Palo) arrest and detention at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and now in protective custody at the Pademba Road Prisons.
Lawyers of Rtd. Major Palo Conteh also confirmed to New Age that he (Palo) is in protected custody at the Pademba Road Prisons.
That a team of detectives headed by the Head of CID, John Kenneth Alpha went to State House after receiving the intelligence noting that on arrival the Director of Presidential Guard Force at State House, Lieutenant Colonel Mohamed Kposowa showed a small hand purse containing a Gluck 17 Pistol loaded with 10 lives rounds ammunition which Major Palo Conteh admitted to be his.
However, Palo Conteh admitted that he took his bag containing his money and pistol at State House adding that upon his arrival, he declared it at the counter and left it in the care of security officials before entering the floor they had the meeting with the President.
He (Palo) added that he was at State House with a team of the former NERC for a presentation to His Excellency in order to ensure preparedness on the Corona Virus.
