The Director General of the National Telecommunication Commission (NATCOM), Daniel Kaitibie has confirmed to New Age that his focus is to ensure that he transform the Commission for the betterment of the people of Sierra Leone.
That he cannot be distracted from this drive by anyone or anybody until he makes the President and the people of Sierra Leone proud by delivering on his mandates as the head of the institution.
This was after series of attempts made to soil the good image and reputable character of the DG that he played a part in the sacking of his then boss, Maxwell Massaquoi.
That he has nothing against his former boss, and confirmed that they shared a very good relationship whiles working with him then as his deputy adding that his replacement of his former boss is at the pleasure of the President.
He assured that the process of transforming NATCOM for the better is not aimed at targeting some employees as some people may have believed it to be, it is rather to ensure service delivery and performance.
He noted that it is his responsibility as the head of NATCOM to demand for employees’ performance and service delivery in order to make sure that people execute the mandates for which they are being paid for.
That despite the debt of Billions of Leones left by his former boss which will be paid by the Commission, his priority is now more than focused on moving the Commission forward.
