Ghana Financial Intermediation Awards (GFI) has awarded Her Excellency Francess Virginia Anderson, Sierra Leone’s High Commissioner to Ghana as an Outstanding Diplomat during their 2021 Awards Ceremony organized at Tang Palace Hotel, Accra.
During the ceremony, it was revealed that her work was closely monitored and followed by many in Ghana and the world at large and that her tremendous works were being acknowledged and appreciated by all.
She was commended for being an outstanding diplomat who promotes the interests of both countries, while business officials and attendees present were urged to copy from her by being outstanding, hardworking and exceptional.
Speaking as the Guest of Honor, High Commissioner Anderson expressed appreciation for such an invitation, which she said meant a lot to her, as it is another opportunity given to tell business leaders and Financial Executives that Sierra Leone is open to all and ready for credible business.
She said the long-lasting bilateral ties that continue to exist between Sierra Leone and Ghana requires nothing but further deepening or strengthening, noting that the sister countries continue to enjoy their relationship.
According to Madam Anderson, representing President Julius Maada Bio in Ghana is one that she prioritizes, hence the reason her Mission is promoting Sierra Leone’s economic, political, cultural and developmental interest.
She highlighted the work of her Mission since she took up office, citing the act of showcasing Sierra Leone’s goodies which includes but not limited to having approximately twenty out of the twenty-four major minerals of the world, being a hospitable country with beautiful touristic sites and pristine beaches.
Reiterating the words of President Bio, High Commissioner Anderson said, Sierra Leone is ready for business once they are credible and are committed to further strengthening the already friendly and diplomatic ties enjoyed by Sierra Leone and Ghana.
She extended an invitation to the business executives that were present, urging them to grab what she described as a lifetime opportunity to invest in a business-friendly Sierra Leone. Commenting further on the relationship of both countries, High Commissioner Anderson informed her audience of the many businesses in Sierra Leone that are owned by Ghanaians which, she says, should inspire others to do likewise.
