Sierra Leoneans are concern about the way and manner their president has been travelling despite claims by the government that they inherited a broken economy.
They revealed that the reason why they are concerned about the frequent travelling of the President is because some of the travelling are not yielding any benefits.
Just recently, President Bio went to Canada at TEDx to give talk to innovators, a forum that has be described as not a forum for president but for innovators.
What Sierra Leoneans did not know is whether or not the President is paid for such a talk at TEDx because it is believed that when people delivered statement at TEDx they are paid.
Before the TEDx talk, President Bio had been in Harvard in the United States of America to give a talk for which many people think the country benefitted little or nothing.
“While in the United Kingdom, His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio will also deliver a lecture at the Brasenose College, University of Oxford. The theme of the Lecture will be: “Beyond Mere Inspiration: Tackling the Challenges of Leadership in Sierra Leone,” a press release from state house stated.
The press release continued that the lecture has been scheduled for Friday 7th June 2019. That John Bowers, Rector at Brasenose College and Professor Wale Adebanwi, Director of the African Studies Centre will welcome His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio at the University of Oxford.
Many Sierra Leoneans see this as a waste of time and money for the President to be moving to universities across the west for public lectures instead of engaging meaningful investors in the world that will help ameliorate the level of unemployment in the country.
