CHINA KINGHO, a mining company that will soon resume its operation at the Tonkolili Iron Ore has donated the total of Four Hundred (400) bags of rice to Four (4) host mining chiefdoms at the Tonkolili District.
The donation is part of the gesture of meeting their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as a company that cares for the wellbeing of the people within their area of operations.
One Hundred (100) bags of rice per chiefdom was given to Simiria, Dansogoia, Sambaia and Tane Chiefdoms each on last Friday to celebrate the Feast of Eid-Ul-Fitr.
Good-will tokens were also presented by CHINA KINGHO to some key members: PCs, Regent Chiefs, MPs, etc. as a support and appreciation for their leadership in the fight against Covid-19.
CHINA KINGHO has also organized a batch of 20,000 standard face masks which is going through formalities to be transported to Sierra Leone by express to help in the fight against the Corona Virus.
On behalf of the mining Chiefdoms, the Paramount Chief of Dansogoia Chiefdom thanked the Management of KINGHO, he also thanked the Minister of Youth, who worked for the donation activities.
He extended thanks to the President Bio’s Government for advocating on their behalf to KINGHO and for implementing community friendly policies that ensured that the host communities benefit from mining operations.
The PC also commended the SLPP Government for giving them the honour last year to sit and talk with the Mining Company (KINGHO) to negotiate with them on terms and conditions, which he said has never happened before in the history of Sierra Leone.
