His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio has commended the Ministry of Youth Affairs for a job well done during the State Opening of the Third Session of the Fifth Parliament of the Second Republic.

This commendation by the President is as a result of the several successful projects within the Ministry that has been undertaken and implemented by the Minister of Youth Affairs, Mohamed Orman Bangura.

President Bio noted that his government has developed capacity and entrepreneurial skills with a skills development project and a skills development fund component, a graduate internship programme, youth demonstration farms, youth business groups, and the setting up of a youth entrepreneurship and employment project.

That government has also established opportunities for thousands of youth with the construction of Car wash centres, youth farms, fisheries projects, and the youth service schemes.

All of the highlighted gains by President Bio at the Ministry of Youth Affairs were executed under the watchful leadership of the Minister of Youth Affairs.

Through the expertise and leadership skills of Minister Orman Bangura, government has included more young people into the governance and decision making processes in the country.

“Government has therefore increased the participation of young people in decision-making processes and leadership roles. To that end, my Government has established 190 Chiefdom and 16 district Youth Councils nationwide,” President Bio stated.
