Fulfilling Their CSR… Mano Mining Distributes Food Items Worth Millions Of Leones To 16 Communities

Mano Mining Company, the leading Sierra Leonean mining company has fulfilled its corporate social responsibility by providing 680 bags of 25kg rice and 75 bags of sugar to sixteen communities in its areas of operation in Imperri Chiefdom Bonthe District. This remarkable event took place in Gbangbama town, chiefdom headquarters town of Imperri Chiefdom on March 22nd 2024.

Mano Mining Company is a multi-disciplinary engineering, planning, and execution company. It undertakes implementation of contracts which include designing, construction, mining servicing equipment rental, haulage services, logistics and other support services.

Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of Mano Mining Company and Logistics Joseph A. Karimu said that Mano Mining Company is a Sierra Leonean owned Company that has positively impacted the lives of many youths in the country.

‘’The Company places maximum priority on the welfare of the people within our areas of operation and we are doing this in order to help our people during the holy month of Ramadan and Lent season’’, he said
‘’We will continue this good gesture as long as Mano Mining continues operation in the District’ ’he added
He expressed gratitude to the community people for their hospitality and urged them to continue the good relationship noting that Mano Mining Company is a Sierra Leonean mining company own by Sierra Leoneans.

He emphasized the need for good relationship between Mano Mining Company and the community people adding the good relationship between the two has the propensity to bring development in the chiefdom.

He attributed the successes of the company to the community people especially the stakeholders.

He urged the youths to maintain peace and make themselves resourceful in the community adding that peace is eminent and is one of the prerequisite requirements for development in any society.

“Mano Mining Company will resume operation immediately after Sierra Rutile resolves issues with the government” he noted. He emphasized their commitment in supporting the communities adding that their commitment in helping the communities cannot be overemphasized.

Speaking to the press, the Chiefdom Speaker of Imperri Augustine M Foday expressed thanks and appreciation to Mano Mining Company for the wonderful gift to the people of his community. “The coming of Mano Mining Company to this community is a blessing to the people especially the youths in our communities,” he said. He disclosed that the company has employed many youths and this has helped reduce crime and drug addiction among youths in Imperri Chiefdom. He urged the youths to maintain peace adding that stakeholders are in consultation with companies in the chiefdom to employ more youths immediately the companies resume operations. ‘’This gift came at the right time because most of the youths in the community are out of job’’ he said. He further called on the government to do the needful in order to allow Sierra Rutile to resume operation immediately. ‘’Huge aspect of our livelihood activities depends of mining activities,’’ he mentioned.

Madam konabia Yonga one of the stakeholders of Imperri Chiefdom thanked Mano Mining for the gift adding that they community people appreciate them so much and the community people will always support them. She called on the youths in Imperri Chiefdom to support Mano Mining Company adding the company has helped employed many youths which has help reduce crime rate in the chiefdom. She further urged Mano Mining to always remember the youths in terms of employment noting that youths play important role in developing the chiefdom.

Youth chairman of Impari Chiefdom Murray Forney thanked Mano Mining for providing for his people during the holy month of Ramadan. He said that the youths of his chiefdom are committed to marinating peace and called on authorities to resolve the issue between the government and Sierra Rutile in order to allow youths to go back to work. “If youths are idle in the chiefdom, crime rate will increase because an idle brain is the devil’s workshop,’’ he said. He urged the youths to stay out of problem and embrace peace in the District.
