1Confrimed Dead, Jagaban Implicated… Krootown Road Stakeholders Accuse Police Of Highhandedness & Indiscriminate Shooting

This past Sunday was very rancorous as residents of Krootown Road were deafened by gunshots which resulted in the death of a young woman.
According to eye witnesses, the rancor started when boys putting on black believed to have come from Kosshoh Town in the East of Freetown attacked Krootown Road community with machetes and sttick.
The cause of the rancor was as a result of a football match between the two communities at Parade Field in the central of Freetown on Saturday for which Kossoh Tong won by a goal to nil.
After the match there were reports of skirmishes in circular road up to Pademba Road axis.
The fight continued on Sunday where Police from the Central Police Division came to calm the situatuion but the alleged highhandedness of the police resulted in the death of one young woman in the community and escalated the issue
The deceased allegedly killed by Police was identified as Emma who was selling cookery in the market when the bullet hit her and killed her.
Meanwhile, there have been no comment from the police with regards the incident but stakeholders in the community accused thugs believed to be behind the flagbearer aspirant of the main opposition All people Congress (APC) for which they say the police shielded them while they were firing
Alhaji Komba, a stakeholder of the community and chairman of the ruling Party Central Region accused the police of indiscriminating shooting and that despite an attempt to engage the police, the Local Unit Commander Tumbay allegedly told him that this is not a party issue and the shooting continued.
When contacted, LUC Tumbay said that he will talk on the issue as he was having meeting with his boss.
