Sulaiman Sahr Koroma, a youth who was residing at Calaba Town in the East of Freetown, has not been seen shortly after he was accused of obstruction, and also of assaulting a policeman during the occasion of electing a new Speaker for the 5th Republic in the House of Parliament.
It could be recalled that current opposition All People’s Congress (APC) party MPs wee forcefully evicted from the Well of Parliament by state security forces to make way for an SLPP majority in electing the current Speaker of Parliament, Dr. Abass Bundu.
It is reported that in forcefully evicting the APC MPs on 25th April 2026, Sulaiman went to the rescue of one of the MPs, and was accused of assaulting a policeman, a reason the police are looking for him.
The pre and post political tensions of the 2018 general elections that brought this Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) ‘New Direction’ regime to power have resulted in the arrest, detention, persecution of those perceived as political rivals, a hostile political atmosphere that has instilled fear and uneasiness, especially among those targeted for political reasons.
As at press time, the whereabouts of Sulaiman is not known; and his loved ones fear that he might have lost his life, considering the disappearance of some perceived political targets.
