GAY BANKER ON THE RUN
Gay Banker, Momoh Konneh is on the run after an attempt on his life because of his sexual orientation and lifestyle by the police.
It is believed Konneh has been in a secret affair with his fellow male and for which Konneh and his couple have been facing serious insults from colleagues
In Sierra Leone Gay activities are prohibitted by law but most times gays received physical assults from people resulting in the mysterious loss of some of them.
Konneh has been involving in gay activities from his days as student at the University where he was known for propagting and celebrating pride week and month for LGBTQ people and upon graduation he was fortunate to work at one of the banks in the country.
Momoh activities has angered many and in a country where there is no protection for LGBTQ+ people, Momoh was set up by some of his colleagues who believed that his sexual activities is anthitetical to the African Tradition and therefore he should be dealth with.
After a well attended party by some staff of the Bank, Momoh together with his secert boyfriend was followed to his home at Berwick Street in the Central Freetown by the Police.
When they entered their home, they had violent knock on door with people shouting, “kill the faggot.”
Momoh and his boyfriend managed to escape and since that night, his family have not set eyes on him.
“My Brother has not been seen for days now. We don’t know whether his alive or dead. We are only praying for the best,” his mother said.
Friends have advised Momoh to remain discreet and avoid public appearances to protect himself because the Muslim community in Freetown and local area boys pose significant risks.
