Magistrate Kallon Delivers Swift Justice In New England Ville Theft Case

In a firm display of courtroom efficiency and accountability, Magistrate Mamakoh Saio Kallon has sentenced Ibrahim Kojo Sesay to one-year imprisonment for the offence of larceny, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the particulars of offence, on Monday, 30th June 2025, at Off Pratt Street in New England Ville, Freetown, the accused, Ibrahim Kojo Sesay, stole one bag of flour valued at nine hundred Leones (Le900). The item is the property of one Ibrahim Bah.
During court proceedings, the charge was read and clearly explained to the accused, who immediately pleaded guilty without hesitation.
Following the guilty plea, Magistrate Kallon wasted no time in delivering her judgment, sentencing Sesay to 12 months’ imprisonment. She emphasized that theft, regardless of the value of the item stolen, is a serious offence that disrupts public trust and must be treated accordingly.
The conviction sends a strong message on the importance of upholding the law and maintaining community security.
