NGC Youth Shines At YDUA Conference In Morocco

The Young Democratic Union of Africa (YDUA)—a prominent center-right youth organization—continues to unite young leaders across the continent in pursuit of democracy, development, and good governance.
Under the visionary leadership of NGC Chairman and Leader, Jesmed Foday-Mamie Suma, a longstanding advocate for youth empowerment and gender balance, the National Grand Coalition (NGC) proudly participated in the biennial YDUA Conference hosted in Rabat, Morocco by the Istiqlal Party.
NGC youth representatives Adama Abubakar Kamara and Foday Mohamed Kebe were honored to represent both their party and Sierra Leone, proudly flying the national and party flags at this prestigious gathering of young democratic leaders.
Themed “Democratizing Africa in the Age of Social Media and AI,” this year’s conference brought together distinguished panelists from government, academia, and public institutions to explore the evolving role of youth in shaping the continent’s democratic future.
A major highlight of the event was the election of new Executive and Board members. Foday Mohamed Kebe, representing the NGC, contested for the role of Chairperson of the Elections and Election Monitoring Committee and secured a landslide victory with 83% of the vote, defeating his opponent, Mr. Temba Gaspar Erasmus of Tanzania’s Chadema Party.
The conference concluded with a guided tour of Morocco’s historic landmarks, a visit to the House of Parliament, and a celebratory awards and gala dinner night—cementing a memorable experience for all delegates.
The NGC remains committed to nurturing bold, capable, and principled youth leaders who will help shape a freer, fairer, and more prosperous Africa.
