An Attack On The First Lady Is An Attack On Sierra Leone

Sierra Leoneans have given their views about the impasse between the First Lady of Sierra Leone, Fatima Bio and Koidu Limited. This has seen the two exchanging letters of court threat while over 1000 aggrieved workers have been sacked.
Just last week, the First Lady explained to Sierra Leoneans that it was the management of Koidu Limited who met her to get involve in the impasse between the company and the workers and just because she did not side with the company, they want to blackmail her.
She exposed lots of human rights abuses of the company on workers who had suffered serious injuries as a result of their job with the mining company doing little or nothing.
The company on the other hand had earlier said that they wont encourage the First Lady as she is not a member of the government and at the same time threatening the First Lady.
Some Sierra Leoneans have said that the first lady is on the right side of history for fighting for the right of the people.
They stated that any attack on the first is an attack on not only the Presidency but the nation as a whole.
“We can fight as a people but we won’t allow others to come and attack our first lady, we will join to defend the country,” Sorie Dumbuya said.
Isata Sia Mbriwa noted that for a very long time they have been suffering in silence with nobody to come to their aid not until the First Lady showed up.
Tamba Pessima noted that they are behind the first lady and against exploitation and imperialism.
