Mabereh Community Embraces AGT Mining Company

On Sunday 23rd March 2025, the mood of the people of Mabereh Village, Kholifa Rowala Chiefdom, Tonkolili District explains the joy of the community people when AGT Mining Company Sierra Leone Limited visited their community.
The Company donated assorted food items worth NLe100,000 to the people of Mabereh Village in honor of the Holy month of Ramadan.
Presenting the food items to the people, the Country Manager of AGT Mining Company Sierra Leone Limited Madam Mary J. Kosia said the donation is a heartfelt gesture from her and her partner, Mr. Ismail El Abbouti to the people of Mabereh Village.
Madam Kosia drew the people’s attention to the fact that there is a binding commitment between them as a company and the community, and that fulfilling that commitment is key to the relationship which they share.
“A relationship that is built on truth and honesty is a relationship that will always survive,” Madam Kosia stressed.
She noted that even though they came a little late, but that they cannot sit and watch a blessed month such as the Holy Month of Ramadan come to an end without them extending goodwill gesture to the community.
She stated that the assorted food items include: 50 kg bags of rice, bags of salt, bags of sugar, bags of onions, cartoons of tomatoes, cartoons of maggie, gallons of oil among others.
She expressed thanks and appreciation to the community for always embracing her and her partner and assured them that they will continue to do more for them as a company.
One after the other, the community leaders and people of Mabereh Community expressed gratitude over what they described as a massive support which they continue to receive from the AGT Mining Company SL Ltd.
This gratitude was expressed with a specific focus on the Country Manager of the company Madam Kosia who they stated is always showing up to extend goodwill gestures in their community.
Thanking her for what she has done and keep doing for them, they prayed that God will continue to bless her and her company.
Hassan Bangura, Village Chief with joy stated that they are not surprised to see Madam Kosia with such generous donation as she has always been doing same.
Chief Bangura thanked both Madam Kosia and Mr. Ismail El Abbouti for always remembering them and keeping to their promises.
He noted that despite the fact that they came to the community to embark on business but that they have done plenty good deeds for them in the community and pray that God will continue to bless them.
Describing both Madam Kosia and Mr. El Abbouti as people who always keep to their words, he said that the visit made by Madam Kosia was unannounced, adding that had they been informed of her coming, she would have met plenty people around who would have canceled whatever busy schedule they have to honor her arrival.
The Chief noted that it is Madam Kosia who they recognize as community people and she has been their contact person since inception.
The Village Imam Mohamed Tholley offers pray for Madam Kosia and her team and pray for a safe return. He said that there is no doubt about her and her team as they are well recognized by the community.
One of the landowners, Ibrahim Sankoh said that since the beginning Madam Kosia has been a good person. He said that since they started discussing about the land, all what she has said is being done accordingly. That she told them not sell the land to them but to lease it to the company. He disclosed that even though the company is yet to commence work on the piece of land, it has been extending goodwill to the community. He prays that God keeps away anything that will bring a misunderstanding between the community and the company.
Chairlady Isatu Kargbo said that the good work of the company has been visible through Madam Kosia. She thanked her and pray for God to continue to bless her.
The Liaison Officer Foday Ayour Koroma welcome Madam Kosia and her team noting that the visit is not a surprise to him as she has been visiting. He referenced that since the company started in 2022 to date, the company has been paying visit on every occasion including the Holy Month of Ramadan to extend goodwill gestures to the community. He prays that God continues to bless Madam Kosia and her partner.
