Accused Jailed For Theft

Mary Turay has made another appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court No.1 on a count charge of Larceny Contrary to Section 13(a) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the chart sheet, that Mary Turay on Monday 6th January 2025 at No.29 Caulker Lane Sorie Town in the Freetown Judicial District in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone entered into the dwelling house of Balu Kamara and stole the sum of Ninety-Nine Thousand Leones (NLe99,000) money of Balu Kamara.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused person, no plea was taken.
Prosecutor Sergeant N. K. Taylor sought for a short adjournment date for her to get proper Conference with his witness.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Kekura refused bail base on the seriousness of the offence and sent the accused person to the Female Correctional Facility in Freetown and adjourned the matter to 21st March 2025.
