Photographer Testifies In Wounding & Assault Matter

Mohamed Kolleh the third prosecution witness and a photographer testified in the ongoing court matter against Humunatu Agnes Gbla who is facing charges of causing grievous bodily harm with intent wounding and assault occasioning actual body harm.
The accused Hamunatu Gbla appeared for the third time before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown.
The charges stem from an alleged incident on Wednesday, 7th August 2024 in Parsonage Street Kissy in the Western Area of Freetown.
In his testimony Konneh stated that he knew both accused and complainant, Ibrahim Tarawally personally.
He explained that he was at a neighbor’s house when he heard someone shouting “don’t leave him he is a thief!” When he stepped outside, he saw Tarawally with a bleeding hand while Humunatu stood at her door instructing a man outside not to let Tarawally go.
According to him, Tarawally responded by saying, I am an investor who has been supplying goods to you and you owe me huge sum of money. “Is this how you intend to pay me back?”
Kolleh further testified that a community chief arrived at the scene and advised Tarawally not to worry, stating that Hamunatu was the daughter of his sister.
Tarawally, however, insisted that she should not be let go until she paid him the large sum of money she owes.
He also requested his bag and phone which were allegedly with Hawannatu.
The chief retrieved only the bag the phone was not returned.
Kolleh told the court that he assisted Tarawally to Shell Police Station, Tarawally called his wife and family members and they later took him to Rokupa Government Hospital for Medical treatment.
Inspector Sellu the prosecutor concluded Kolleh’s testimony.
During cross examination the defence counsel renewed the application for bail but Magistrate Sahr Kekura Denied the request ordering that Hamunatu remain in custody at the Female Correctional Centre in Freetown.
The matter was adjourned to September 26th 2024
