Man Remanded For Murder

Ishmael Yillah Sankoh an adult made another appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Magistrate Court in Freetown.
He was arraigned before the court for Murder contrary to law.
According to the particulars of offence, on Sunday the 14th of April 2024, at Spur Loop Stone Ground off Regent Road Lumley Freetown, murdered Musa Mohamed Vandi.
Prosecuting the matter, police prosecutor inspector Sellu TAP led prosecution witness number five (5), Alieu Sadiu Kamara, who serves as exhibit clerk at the Lumley Police Station.
Among his numerous roles as exhibit clerk, he stated that he received and registered files on working days.
Testifying in court, he recalled that on the 17th April 2024, that he was in the office working, when one Sergeant 7907 Kamara MB came with one kitchen knife without handle and that the knife had blood. He said that he collected the knife and registered it in his exhibit book against the serial number 61/2024. He said that the knife was at his custody at the police station.
Since that time, he said that he kept the knife in order to use it as exhibit in the said matter.
In a bid to progress with the matter, the knife was produced and tendered in court. It was recorded as F1. The accused person was not represented by a legal counsel.
When he was asked by the magistrate to cross-examined the witness, he said he has no question.
In the wisdom of the magistrate, the accused was remanded to the Male Correctional Facility. The matter was adjourned to the 28th of August 2024.
