Sales Man Remanded For Theft

A sales man, Alusine Ibrahim Kamara employed by Umar Kannon Conteh was on Tuesday 2nd July 2024, remanded in custody by Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No.2 in Freetown for allegedly stealing items valued over One Hundred Thousand Leones.
The accused is charged on three counts ranging from Larceny by Servant Contrary to Section 17 (1) (a) of the Larceny Act 1916, Larceny Contrary to Section (2) of the Larceny Act 1916 and Fraudulent Conversation Contrary to Section 20 (1)(4)(b) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the particulars of offence on count 1, the accused Alusine Ibrahim Kamara between 10th February 2024 and 2nd May 2024 at No. 147 Circular Road, Freetown, being a sales man employed by Umar Kannon Conteh, stole the sum of One Hundred and Sixty Three Thousand Nine Hundred Leones (163,900) of assorted items including clothing, creps, shoes which are property belonging to Umar Kannon Conteh.
On count 2, the accused on the same date and place did steal kids’ crepes, male/ladies’ trousers and other items valued at One Hundred and Sixty-Three Thousand Nine Hundred Leones, property of Umar Kannon Conteh.
And on count 3, the accused on the same date and place, fraudulently converted to his own use or benefits the sum of Fifty Thousand Leones entrusted to him by Umar Kannon Conteh for the purpose of money remittance to various Money Gram, Western Union and RIA.
Bail was refused and the accused was remanded in custody until the 4th July 2024. DSP Sorie Conteh is Prosecuting the matter.
