Sierratel, government owned and controlled telecommunication company is asking for huge chunk of moneys to be injected into the company to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
This was made known to the public in the official unveiling on the refurbished headquarters of the company at Walace Johnson Street.
“We need serious capital injection of 44 Billion Leones in 2019 which will bring 89 Billion in revenue,” the consultant Managing Director Senesie Kallon revealed.
He explained that they want to improve on their services so that they will be able to add over 8,000 subscribers, noting that; they brand themselves as the country’s own but that they are not everywhere in the country.
He pointed out that they need a total of 70 sites all over the country in every district.
Kallon also explained the transformational approach of the company which he dubbed, “Better before Cheaper” and “Revenue before Cost.”
“Our strategy is to cover the whole country as our core principles are integrity, transparency, fairness, accountability innovation and excellence.
He said that the challenges the company is facing will soon be of the past as they are into diversification, expansion and improvement of their service.
Mohamed Rahman Swaray, information and communication minister stated that amidst all the challenges of Sierratel, the rebranding process is a test that the company wants to move forward.
The hoisting of flag by the Chairman National Commission For Privatization (NCP), Umaru Napoleon Koroma climaxed the occasion.
